Minutes of Business and Council MeetingsEach year at the ASA the Sociological Practice & Public Sociology section holds a combined business and council meeting. It's opportunity for all members, including student members, to voice whatever they want to about how this section could better serve the members, all sociologists, and even society.Listserv InformationThere are two listservs provided by the ASA for each section. The first is an Announce list, where only selected section Officers are approved as list managers, and only list managers can post. With our section, the Chair, Chair-Elect, and webmaster are the authorized list managers.
Section Discussion ListThe discussion list, unlike the section announcement list used by section officers, is not an opt-out list (prepopulated), rather each member needs to opt-in, or join.

The following guidelines are common sense and courtesy. You all know them, I'm sure. People who are perceived as not following these rules will be privately reminded.
